Tin Toy Bus Description, Bus Collector Value ($US) and Notes...
A beautiful oversize Japanese made tin friction bus. It's a Golden Eagle in Continental Trailways trim as used in throughout the 1970s. It's an excellent example of the best tin toy buses from the era as it is nicely detailed and has the appearance of a promo bus rather than a toy bus.
Has blue tinted plastic windows. This model is huge, over a foot long and very "boxy" in appearance. This is the largest bus in my collection.

My wife has this bus. Her dad worked for Cont. Trailways in 60s and 70s. It was promotional. hers looks a little worse though. My wife is also seen holding one similar in a bus station poster, that was all over the country in 65 or so. We have 2 of those. Do you know any collectors of Bus poster or advertising? Please email, thanks Steve

I have a Silver Eagle 5 Tin/friction, japan. It was not your promotional one but a little smaller in size. Apparently similar models of the promo were made but a smaller size. Mine is 11" long, 4" high, 2 3/4" wide. It does not have the tinted plastic Windows and the lower sides are silver.
I also have other models of this bus, one is tin 6 1/2''long 2 1/4" high, 1 5/8" wide. Also tin/ friction. Yours is well detailed and in excellent shape. A real prize for any collection

Corgi has unlimited diecast replicas of Greyhound buses.
Why not a Continental trailways lineup?
It was the best nationwide busline of the 60s and 70s.
All you see online is the occasional cheapie eBay tin which is all too often in bad condition.
Why no love for Trailways? Let's petition Corgi!

I have a Silver Eagle bus as well with clear plastic windows. It has friction wheels. My brother bought it for me back in the late 60's in Houston, Tx when he left going to his Airforce duty station. It is still in great shape. For some strange reason I took good care of it and it is displayed in my show case.

I have this bus my step-grandmother gave me and my brother both one when I was 11yrs. old. I still have it and I wish that I had my brothers. For he is here anymore. What I would like to know is, what is the bus worth? Yes it was played with some but not a lot. The plastic windows are cracked.
