The bus is an A type, 47 seat double decker, one of 240 built between 1917 and 1921 by the New York Transportation Company, the manufacturing arm and parent company of the Fifth Avenue Coach Company. These were the first in-house-built buses operated by FACC. Before that the major supplier was French company De Dion Bouton with bodies built by Brill of Philadelphia to a London General Omnibus Company design.
