Corgi has finally immortalized the General Motors PD-4501 Greyhound Scenicruiser!!! Up until now the only person who probably ever had an accurate model of this bus was its legendary industrial designer, Raymond Lowey. This and the GM 4104 are the ones we model and toy bus collectors have been waiting for. One down, one to go.
The detailing and their accuracy are a joy to behold as Corgi saw fit to make the sliding side windows more of an oval as opposed to the earlier parallelogram shapes on the fishbowl series. This was a major pet peeve of mine and one that I'm happy to see has been addressed. The one thing I "believe" is not right is the amber striping as I thought this was actually gold(?). Can anyone confirm this?
The wait was worth it as Corgi has really turned out a great bus we collectors can be proud of owning. Get it quick as with most Corgi releases, it is strictly limited edition. This is one of only 6,700 distributed worldwide. Interestingly, Corgi no longer tells you which number of the run you have.

Collectors Classics the 1954 Scenicruiser
The Greyhound 1954 Scenicruiser was the first bi-level coach , carrying 10 passengers on the lower level where the driver sat. And 33 up above with a birds eye view of everything below. The Scenicruiser had skylights, especially suited for watching the stars on clear nights...
