Mack, the truck maker, tried to compete unsuccessfully against General Motors for the bus market in the U.S. with buses that looked remarkably similar to the GM transit old looks. New York City as well as San Francisco ran a number of these on various routes.

Despite not being as popular as GM, famed Russian company Saint Petersburg Tram has decided to build a custom model of this bus. Built to amazing accuracy by skilled old world craftsmen, The St. Petersburg team leaves nothing to chance o this model bus. Every small detail is captured as evidenced by the photos above. Model bus collectors can even customize coach numbers and destination signs.

Such attention to detail does carry a large price tag, but for the serious model bus collector there is no finer representation of this 1957/58 Mack bus that competed with the similar looking General Motors buses.
